Starting with mid-February 2015 the association “The Latvian Red Cross” invites the third countries nationals* – young and becoming parents to join the support group – educational activities.
The young and becoming parents will have the opportunity to attend 10 sessions during a period of five months (twice a month). In these activities the young parents will meet with representative of various professions – pediatrician, psychologist, gynaecologist, pedagogue, traumatologist, lawyer etc. who will conduct sessions on various themes, including:
- Health of a child and the mother (pregnancy, childbirth, care of a newborn baby);
- Child’s upbringing, learning games and plays;
- Children’s educational possibilities in Latvia;
- Children’s rights and duties in Latvia;
- Risks and types of children’s traumatism;
- Children’s safety and first aid.
In addition, the young parents will have the opportunity to participate in creative workshops together with their children where they will make self-made useful items both for themselves and their children.
During the sessions children of the young parents will be able to stay and play in a specially adjusted place for children (the so-called “children’s area”).
