Project implementation period: 1 April 2019 – 31 August 2019
Objective: To facilitate understanding of climate change impact on the frequency of natural disasters, their severity and global scope, discovering new opportunities how to facilitate knowledge-based lifestyle and action, including in regard to activities implemented by the Red Cross.
Project partners: associations “Latvian Red Cross”, “Italian Red Cross”, “Finnish Red Cross”, German Red Cross”, “Dutch Red Cross”, “Estonian Red Cross”.
Project tasks:
To provide youngsters an opportunity to get to know about different ways how to change their habits to increase their impact on the global changes, to share experience and learn from each other, as well as to inform the youngsters that even small actions impact the climate globally;
To provide the youngsters understanding how important it is to perform different activities, including training and practical seminars about climate change, their reasons and consequences;
To improve communication, cooperation, decision-making, problem solving and performance evaluation skills of youngsters;
To facilitate friendships between youngsters, to develop their understanding and respect for the cultural diversity, to reduce stereotypes and create new initiatives on the local and international level.
Project will focus on the following topics:
- Greenhouse effect and its gases;
- Threats to wild life;
- Water protection and climate impact on sea life;
- Climate change;
- Natural damages prevention management;
- Red Cross involvement in providing assistance in natural disasters;
- Zero waste and reduced waste lifestyle.
