On 19 and 20 October, Red Cross EU Office together with French Red Cross was hosting the first EU Domestic Focal Points meeting – attended by 41 representatives of 19 National Red Cross Societies. With a focus on national activities in care, ageing, disability, employability, integration, migration and inclusion, the event enabled participants to jointly explore opportunities for service development, advocacy, interest representation and possibilities for enhanced cooperation between members with the support of EU funding, e.g. in view of the new EU Pact on Migration and Asylum and the thematic priorities for the new European Social Fund plus (ESF+). National Red Cross Societies also shared insights about their activities, including ongoing initiatives in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and good practices in the work with vulnerable groups across Europe.
