Day-care centre “Ventiņmāja”

To ensure that people with mental disabilities are not forced to spend their days alone, but be with other members of the community, improve their skills and relieve their family members, the LatRC Kurzeme branch offers Day center “Ventiņmāja” im Ventspils. Since November 2013, the multi-functional day center “Ventiņmāja” has been active, which brings together up to 20 people with dementia every day to carry out important tasks together with various specialists and specially trained and prepared volunteers and extraordinarily creative activities. Reading newspapers, gymnastics, music, art, memory training, celebration and guided tours as well as providing support and counseling to dementia relatives are part of the planned activities of the center.
