The Association “Latvian Red Cross” implements the project “Climb Higher, See Further” (No. DIKS-19-718-lī) since 1 April 2019. The project is financed by the Education, Culture and Sports Department of Rīga City Council.
Project implementation period: 1 April 2019 – 1 November 2019
Objective: The objective of the project is to facilitate active participation of the customers of ĪUM “Burtnieks” in development of their careers and growth, to increase their competitiveness in local labour market and provide them opportunities to get to know how to spend their time with family (children) thereby facilitating their integration in local community.
The target audience of the project includes 50 LatLRC ĪUM “Burtnieks” customers, children and adults age 3 to 70. Description of the target audience: persons and families facing crisis without a permanent place of residence, people who often lack motivation to arrange and improve their own lives, with low skill set and lack of everyday skills.
During the project the following activities will be organised:
- Activities for children;
- Individual lessons with speech therapist;
- Basic lessons about professions;
- Joint events with all customers.
As a result of project activities, the participants will be urged to be aware that they can change their lives by improving their living conditions. The project will allow the involved to get to know their strengths and weaknesses, their opportunities and threats. The awareness of their own abilities will allow the participants to be more successful in the labour market and arrange their lives, thereby facilitating their social integration in Riga.
Total budget of the project: EUR 7,894.22
The project is co-financed within the framework of the Social Integration Programme of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Rīga City Council.
