A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck central Italy claiming lives, injuring others and leaving many homeless
Italian Red Cross search and rescue teams are racing to help those affected by an earthquake which has severely damaged towns near the city of Perugia.
Red Cross medical teams, including 20 ambulances, are arriving to support the rescue operations. Local Red Cross volunteers are providing first aid and personal support to people affected.
All Italian Red Cross emergency centres have been activated and are helping coordinate assistance across the country.
